Since 1992 when we opened our doors in Seattle as American Hemp Mercantile, it has been the company’s mission to reintroduce to the North American marketplace, useful products made from the fibers of the hemp plant (cannabis sativa). Because hemp cannot legally be grown in the United States, it has been necessary to import our cordage and fabrics from countries where hemp is an important part of the agricultural and light industrial economies.

In the spring of 2000, the two nationally known industrial hemp companies, Earth Goods and American Hemp, merged and established headquarters in Spokane, Washington. How ever, since then American Hemp has become no longer a part of Earth Goods.

Products branded with the American Hemp name guarantee the world’s highest quality and most advanced hemp products available. Best sellers include the 20# and 48# polished hemp twine balls as well as the 45# and 85# six-strand cord balls, which are highly-prized by the jewelry industry.

Customers also enjoy the several colors that are available in the 20# polished twine balls. In addition to red and black, American Hemp offers blue, forest green, gecko green, purple, turquoise, orange and yellow. We will also be receiving four new blended colors in the near future.
